Extend The Life Of Your Diesel
Using AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants
Learn about the Benefits and proper use of AMSOIL Synthetic Diesel Engine Oils and Chassis Lubricants for your Duramax, Cummins or PowerStroke Diesel.

AMSOIL, the leader in automotive synthetic lubrication, produced the world’s first API qualified synthetic motor oil in 1972.  In 1975 AMSOIL introduced a synthetic diesel oil, and with it, coined the phrase "extended drain intervals".  Trust the extensive experience of AMSOIL The First in Synthetics® to do the best job protecting your engine.

Since then, AMSOIL diesel oils have been used as extended drain lubricants in transportation, equipment and stationary engine applications. In every industry, they have proven effective in improving engine durability and fuel economy. AMSOIL customers report significant savings realized through reductions in downtime, parts replacement, lubricant replacement, lubricant disposal, and fuel consumption. Fleet demonstrations and independent testing confirm what AMSOIL customers report: using AMSOIL diesel oils save money.

You can't buy better protection for your hard-working diesel than AMSOIL HD Diesel Oils. Whether you want the fuel economy benefits and ultra-cold temperature protection of a diesel-formulated 5W-30 or the tried-and-true protection of a 15W-40, you just can't beat AMSOIL Superior Diesel Oils.

Product Recommendations for Diesel Vehicles
There are new rules in affect beginning in the 2007 model year for all diesel applications.  Stricter EPA guidelines are now calling for a new specification on all diesel oils. The spec is classified as CJ-4 and it must be used in 2007 diesel engines or you will cause harm to your engine.

AMSOIL's recommendations are as follows:
For all 2007 and newer diesel vehicles the following oil must be used:

DEO 5W-40 - This is AMSOIL's newest Synthetic Oil and meets the newest CJ-4 oil specifications. The use of any other oil in 2007 diesel equipment not meeting CJ-4 will cause harm to your engine and in particular the DPM filter. DPM stands for Diesel Particulate Matter and is a highly sophisticated filter designed to clean the exhaust gases before it enters the atmosphere. This filter can become severely clogged if the wrong oil is used in your engine.

Below are the correct oil filters to order per Diesel Engines:
Chevy Duramax – EaO-52
Dodge Cummins – EaO-80 or Donaldson ELF-7349
Ford Power Stroke 7.3L – EaO-99
Ford Power Stroke 6.0L – EaO-88

If you own a 2006 or older diesel Use approved API CI-4 + diesel oil. For 2006 model year and older you may use either one of the following full Synthetic Oil’s:

HDD 5W-30 - This oil delivers extraordinary lubrication in both diesel and gasoline engines found in commercial, fleet and personal vehicles.

AME 15W-40 - This is AMSOIL's top selling oil overall. You can use this oil in any gasoline or diesel engine (previous to 2007 models.) AME is an excellent all purpose synthetic fleet oil that will typically meet most of your fleets demands.

ACD 10W-30/SAE 30 - This synthetic oil can be used where a 10W-30 or straight 30 weight oil is desired. This is very good economical choice and like AMSOIL's 15W-40 synthetic oil is an excellent fleet oil.

INJEN/AMSOIL Diesel Air Intake Systems

Intake System Design
Cold air intake systems serve several important functions. Primarily, they are used to increase the amount of oxygen available to the engine, increasing power. Because cool air has greater density than hot air, aftermarket intakes improve combustion of fuel by capturing cooler air from outside the engine compartment. In addition, an aftermarket air intake system increases the diameter of the intake as compared to the original equipment, increasing air flow into the engine and making more oxygen available during the combustion process.

Construction of Injen/AMSOIL Diesel Air Intake Systems
AMSOIL now offers the Injen/AMSOIL Power-Flow Diesel Air Intake series with revolutionary Variable Induction Technology. The new VI Technology process is a multipower air induction system that fills the plenum with air, giving added power on demand. The Power Box on the Diesel series is manufactured using a composite mix of glass-filled nylon and polypropylene designed for noticeably quiet operation. The Power Box was designed for advanced cooling efficiency and the ability to resist high temperatures.

"Dual Guard" Bypass (Side Stream) Oil Filtration System

The Ea By-Pass Oil Filter (EaBP) provides the best possible filtration protection against wear and oil degredation.  Working in conjunction with the engine's full-flow oil filter, the AMSOIL Ea By-Pass Filter operates by filtering oil on a "partial-flow" basis.  It draws approximately 10% of the oil pump's capacity at any one time and traps the extremely small, wear-causing contaminants that full-flow filters can't remove.

Advantages of Bypass Oil Filtration

You might look at a by-pass filter as an addition to your engine’s security system. Your regular oil filter passes the full flow of oil from the pump and removes particles bigger than about 20 to 30 microns. Left in the oil, particles smaller than this size can contribute to ring, liner and bearing wear. These same particles can also contribute to engine deposits, which can hurt engine performance and induce oil consumption.

If the regular “full-flow” filter were designed to filter smaller particles, there would be a risk of insufficient oil flow through the engine as particles accumulated in the filtering media of the full-flow filter element. In fact, regular filters come equipped with a “relief” valve, to allow some of the oil to by-pass them completely. These valves insure the proper flow of oil is maintained to protect the engine, even if the filter media accumulates enough material to cause excessive pressure drop across the filter, or the oil is too thick to pass through it fast enough.

By-pass filters are an addition to the regular oil filter. They take only a portion of the oil pump’s flow, and can therefore be more efficient in removing even smaller particles than 5 microns. Eventually, all of the oil gets circulated through the by-pass element. Removing particles smaller than 20 microns is another step in reducing the risk of engine wear, and can also help in reducing risk of oil viscosity increase.

A side benefit of a by-pass filter is that it usually increases the amount of oil necessary to fill the engine oil system. More oil means contaminants are less concentrated and likely to cause harm to the engine. More oil also means more additives are available to neutralize contaminants and protect vital engine parts.

By-pass oil filters can add to your line of defense against engine wear and deposits, helping maintain engine performance and long engine life. When it comes to providing you with security for your engine, a high quality filtering system goes along way. But then so does high quality synthetic engine oil like AMSOIL.
